Ms. Amelia was born September 16th, 2011
and I was lucky enough to be asked to take her newborn photos!
It was such an honor,
and all I can say is, boy do I have a lot to learn about newborns!!
We did 2 sessions with little Amelia,
because the first time around, she was squirmy,
hungry and not in the mood for pictures (or so we thought!)
Turns out there are 3 very important things
you MUST remember for taking newborn photos:
1. You need a SMALL heater that is able to
blow heat directly on the baby. This is KEY!
2. Make sure s/he is fed right before! And believe me
when I say, they will need to eat again during the
shoot, so make sure Mom is prepared!
3. You need an assistant: to hold the heater,
to rearrange props, to rearrange baby, to grab this, grab that..
(Jessica Zupke, I am forever grateful for your help!!)
Thank you Megan for letting me
photograph your adorable new baby!
All in all I love the results....
So here is a sneak peak of my time with Ms. Amelia
don't you just love that hair?
Natalie these are STUNNING! WOW! What an amazing job you did, the posing is totally perfect, what great props! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
ReplyDeleteWhat lens did you use for these? I'm in the market...
ReplyDeleteHey Paige, Thanks! I have a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens! I loooooooove it!
ReplyDeleteSo when searching the Nikon lenses the 24-70mm f/2.8 is like $1,200!! HOLY CRAP! I'm looking at maybe getting the 35mm f/2.0. Just not 100% sure I know what I'm doing...PW says that its a great lens for the kitchen...hmmmmm
