A tribute to Beth

The world lost an amazing, courageous, inspirational woman last weekend.
My best friend Amy, lost her mom, Beth, to a long fought battle with cancer.

Cancer sucks.

I've known Amy since I was in High School,
but it wasn't until Sophomore year of College that I really got the opportunity
to become good friends with her. I couldn't resist her positive attitude, her zest for life
and genuine personality. We quickly clicked and to this day I can't imagine my life without her.

Even from the beginning, her family welcomed me with open arms and I instantly
knew why Amy is the way she is. Her mom, even with barely knowing me, treated me as one of her own. And they were always so thankful for everything. And as they moved closer to Madison, they quickly became my home away from home and to me, Beth became more than just my friend's Mom.

As they learned of the diagnosis, Beth remained incredibly positive. She was the definition of courageous, and the definition of optimistic, never admitting any fear.
Above all, she was a fighter.

I am just so thankful that I had the opportunity to have Beth in my life. And yet, I can't help but be furious that she was taken away from her family. I know that she will forever be in our hearts, and forever be watching over Steve, Amy, Zach and Nick, still guiding them through life as she would have if she was here with us.

But it's just not fair. It's not fair.

To my bestest Amy, I love you with all my heart and hope that you can find some comfort in knowing that she is in a better place and will always still be with you. I pray that your family can find strength during this devastating time, and honor her life. She created a beautiful, genuine family and you should be so proud. Your courage has been an inspiration to all of us. I just wish I could be closer to give you a big giant hug.

Rest in Peace, Beth. Love you for always.

Sarah and Erin: Engaged!

One of my good friends from High School recently got engaged
and she asked me to do her engagement photos!

I was absolutely beyond excited!

Sarah and Erin live in downtown Minneapolis
steps from the Stone Arch Bridge.
So....I bet you can guess where we decided to shoot!
Besides the clouds, and cold, the day was awesome!

So here is a sneak preview of
Ms. Sarah and her FIANCE, Erin.

So happy and excited for you two
and could not have been more honored to
take these photos for you!
Hope you enjoy them!

Stone Arch Bridge

The Stone Arch Bridge is a photography staple in Minneapolis.
Naturally, I wanted to travel there to get some cool shots!

The first time around, I dragged my roommate
on a 14 mile bike ride (back when the weather was nice)

and the second time around, my photography class
through the Minneapolis Community Education program
took a trip down to practice night photography.

I could not be more obsessed with these photos.

I'm going to start putting the watermarks on my photos,
I noticed a few of my photos going up on Pinterest,
(which I am completely and udderly honored/thankful for!!!)
I just want to make sure I continue to
get the proper credit for my photos!
Thanks :-)
